Tanu Beach  ( 172° 23´  W  ,  13° 27´ S )

 

Savaii is also called the big island as it is a little bit bigger than Upolu (70 Km long 50 Km broad). The main village is Salelologa with shops, banks and restaurants. This is also were you arrive with the ferry from Upolu. The roads on Savaii are very good and if you have a car you will be able to see the  beautiful waterfalls, blow-holes, and the most western point before the date line in one day. With the bus you just need to be more Samoan and not to care about the time.

From Salelologa you need about 1 h and 15 min with the bus to get to Tanu Beach on the north coast.
